Comparison between two poems both by the same author-
‘Stealing’ and ‘Education for leisure
Education for leisure is about a person who kills. ...
In ‘Education for leisure’ it opens with a short sentance ‘Today I am going to kill something. ... This poem deals with the actual emotions as opposed to the feelings that come through more in ‘Education for Leisure’. ...
As did the ‘Education for leisure’ poem the ‘Stealing’ poem brings across a great sense of boredom and isolation from the rest of the world. ...
I think the poems both show similar feelings but I think that the person in ‘Education for leisure’ does not see their faults and are more disturbed and extreme then ‘Stealing’. I think that the person in ‘Education for leisure’ is a man because they say ‘squashing flies’ which is a past time of young boys.
