Communism vs Capitalism

Capitalism is perhaps the most effective type of government ever created. ... Communism; on the other hand is deemed the worst type of government, most people would say the only type of government worse than Communism would be no government at all. The United States Government also feels that Communism is evil, therefore its’ citizens also feel that it is malevolent government that takes away the rights of all of its citizens. I am not a Communist, and I don’t feel that Communism is right for America. However I do feel that the system of Communism is not altogether wrong. ... I believe the most common reason for fear of Communism stems from the ignorance of Americans. Most Americans only believe it is appalling because are told that it is an evil system that doesn’t work, if we only took the time to truly examine the effects of Communism, we would realize its benefits for certain countries. To start off it is important to understand what Communism really is, “Communism: A concept or system of society in which the major resources and means of production are owned by the community rather than by individuals. ... ” In the past Communism has failed, but the reason it failed is because in all the former systems, the opportunities for corruption were many, and numerous people took those opportunities for personal gain. ... Communism is often referred to as immoral because it impedes on the personal rights of their citizens. ... I do not believe that Communism is a perfect; there are also some flaws in the system. ... Another disadvantage of Communism is the economy is not a supply and demand economy. ... If the United States were truly against Communism they would refuse trade with all Communist countries. ... Capitalism minimizes government involvement, and they rely on the citizens to make wise decisions. Capitalism’s initiative is that everybody knows what is best for the community and themselves. ... In Capitalism there is always a chance for personal gain, and the chance to line your own pockets and leave everybody in the dust. ... In Capitalism there will always be the beggars, the homeless, and hungry children and parents. ... In Communism, everybody is equal there are no rich and there are no poor. ... How can you say Capitalism is successful when the gap between the richest and the poorest people are in the billions of dollars? ... Capitalism may work for those who start out with money, and can afford a decent education, but the poor are not so lucky, they have nowhere to go but down. I do not believe that Communism is what America needs, but I think that we should at least be more open and consistent in our relationships with Communist countries. ... Communism has been viewed as an evil practice by almost all of America, but the reason it has been viewed as so evil reveals ignorance towards the true benefits of Communist Government. ... The perseverance and determination alone has proved to the world that Communism can work. ... It is wrong to assume that Communism is bad, solely because it has not worked in past instances. ... America seeks to cripple and eventually wipe out Communism, and it seems they have no reason to do so. Communism was born in the 20’s, and to the shock of the whole world; it seemed to be an effective form of government. America, being the leading world power could not accept the current success of Communism. ... They decided the only way to prevent Communism from spreading was to stop it in its tracks.
