For much of the twentieth century baseball has been considered the national pastime of the United States. But in the 1990s, baseball stars were being moved out of the way by star of another sport called basketball. ... In addition, the 1994-95-baseball strike has pushed the sport further out of the limelight, since the public has become blinded with the greed of players and managers. The strike has raised a question in the minds of many: Should baseball continue to be considered our national pastime, or should basketball take its place?
Although both sports are popular with American fans, attending a baseball game is quite different from attending a basketball game. Baseball is a family oriented spectator sport.
