Frida (2002) covers thirty-two years of Frida Kahlo’s life, cramming all the major events in her life, starting with her first meeting with her future husband, Diego Rivera, to her first exhibit in Mexico. There is no doubt that this bisexual communist went through a lot in her life, and director Julie Taymor (Titus) depicts a very artistic picture of it all.
One of the major events that helped to shape Frida as a person was undoubtedly the trolley accident that she suffered at the age of fifteen.
