Fox hunting is a controversial topic, notorious for causing unrest
and differing opinions. ... MPs have
voted for a total ban on fox hunting but the bill must now pass
through several more stages if it is to become law. ... To those farmers and countryside people living in rural areas - they believe fox hunting to be nothing but a traditional way of life. ... On the subject of hunting, farmers see their economy as interdependent with it – that without it as a source of income it would be a tragic blow to their traditional way of life. In places such as Exmoor, hunting is a valued social tradition that has gone on for generations. The countryside alliance also suggest that the rural economy could be boosted by a growth in blood-free sports such as drag hunting as a result of a ban on hunting with dogs, therefore it would be beneficial to continue to allow fox hunting.
