Sport and the mass media are and have always been very closely associated. The majority of people find out about and watch sport through television, radio, newspapers or teletext as it is not possible for most people to attend a live match or performance. The mass media have always played a big role in the opinions and functioning of society. The print media (newspapers, magazines and loans, beer and more sport, broadcasting companies know what their main audience is during what time and program. One of the main functions of the mass media is to provide information about events and people.
