How are skateboards engineered? What you might be asking your self what is a skateboard? Some would say that skateboarding is a piece a wood with rubber wheels, bearings and bolts. Well there right, but know one really knows on how they were made. Its very amazing on what people can think of these days. Certain inventions and basic math were the start of things. Well the first topic that I would like to start with is the crafting of the Skateboard Deck. There are many things that go into the crafting of a skateboard deck. Many years have gone into the make of the skateboard and have evolved into the shape that it’s in today. Even know the board has change shape the wood hasn’t changed. The first thing that they do to create the skateboard deck is getting the wood. The wood most comes from what we would call the woods. There are all different types of trees. The Most used on man-made skateboards are maple. One that that you will notice is if you go to a skate shop there are 7 ply (the amount of wood that is glued together in the process of building), but when you go and buy a TOYS R US© Deck the board is very think giving about 8 to 9 ply with in the hold.
