Gods chosen Men: Abraham and David
Throughout this paper I will be discussing two biblical characters, Abraham and David, from the Hebrew Bible and why God choose these individuals to fulfill his wishes. I will first be talking about Abram and why God changes his name to Abraham. ... Next I will talk about David. God knew that David was a man of God, and a man after his own heart (Acts 13:21). I will give some examples of his kindness, patience, and faith that he obtains, making him the chosen king of God. plan to turn all nations back to Him. ... God will change Abram’s name to Abraham because he will be “Father of Nations”, and in turn God will be his God. Abraham’s part of the contract with God was to obey his command that all must be circumcised to show proof that him and everyone else accepted his covenant. At 100 years old, Abraham’s first son, Issaac was born. Now God will test Abraham’s obedience.
God told Abraham to take Isaac, the son of the promise and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on Mount Moriah (Genesis 22:2). ... But by this time in his life Abraham had learned to trust God implicitly.
