The topic of abortion has been a controversial issue since the origin of its practice. ... In the eyes of some, an abortion is murder; in the eyes of others, not having the right to an abortion is robbing someone of their freedoms. The question becomes, is abortion murder? ... (Webster’s’ Dictionary) So, technically, since we have yet to decide what constitutes a human being, and presently abortion is legal, how can it rightly be called murder? This however, is the reason abortion is a moral debate. ... “If I were to have an abortion; then I could finish school and not start a family until I was ready to do so”. Morality is realized because by having an abortion she is able to achieve a desired result from and undesirable situation. ... “If I chose have an abortion (do this), I am saying that the whole world, at any time or place should be able to have an abortion whenever they wanted. ... However, should abortion be so black and white? ... There is a loser on either side, and while on paper, both Hume and Kant make excellent observations about human nature and decision-making; and while they can be related to the topic of abortion, we still find that there is no real answer.
