othello
Ballad Snow White and the Seven Dwarves When my dearest father died, So old and still, he laid in bed, All that night I cried and cried, And lay my hand beneath his head. My horrible step-mother set me to slave, I scrubbed and cleaned and I’d even sweep, I felt like locking myself in a cave, I never had a chance to sleep. I worked all night and I worked all day, I definitely needed a break, So I felt I had to run away, So I collected all my things to take. I ran through the woods and through the trees, Looking for a cosy den, Then suddenly I heard a sneeze, Coming from some little men. ‘Excuse me, please,’ I said to them, ‘Do you know somewhere where I can stay, I need a place like a small den, My father died and I ran away.’ When I was staying with the dwarves, A little old women passed by, She had terribly sharp claws, And she gave me an apple in hope I would die. When the little men appeared, They saw me lying on the floor, They all began to stroke their beard, Until they saw the apple core. Then they put me in a case, Hoping I was alive and asleep, They wrapped me up in a frilly lace, And kneeled down by me to weep. Then along came a handsome prince, And gave me the kiss of life, I knew I should never wince, Because I later became his wife.
