What was life like before cell phones? The answer, to many in the world today, remains a mystery. About 100 years ago, Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone by accident with his assistant Mr. Watson. Over many years, the modern version of the telephone blows Mr. Bell’s version out the window. This marvelous invention has seemed to amaze of us, at one point or another. With the great technology available, the world has created new modified inventions of the telephone but even better, the cellular phone. Cell phone are becoming extremely popular throughout the different age groups. Today’s cell phones are great for chatting and have other interesting extras. Cellular phones may even be considered a necessary convenience. One advantage in both the cell phone and regular telephone is caller ID. Caller ID is a feature that alerts you to what number is calling. When your phone rings, the display unit flashes the incoming number of the caller. On some phones, you can program the name with the number so next time that number calls, the name flashes along with the incoming number. This feature is useful since the owner can preview who is calling the phone before he or she even takes the call. People can evaluate the importance of the call and see if their time is important enough for the person who is calling them.
