During the New Republic when roles and duties were being passed out, women found it kind of hard to determine where they stand without stepping on the toes of their husbands or fathers. One women beated the odds and found a way out of the discrimination and lack of knowledge that was imposed on the women in the late 1700’s to the early 1900’s. One women by the name of Abigail Adams battled the discrimination and opportunities that were not giving to women, to later become on the most popular writers of her time and to help out women try to become more educated when she took her husbands hand and you used the position of the First Lady, when her husband was elected president of the United States.
