The most fundamental difference between the British and American descriptions of Carter’s book is that one sees the book as a “complex argument on human nature and man’s relationship to his animal nature”. The American version on the other hand concludes a different theme for Carter’s book: “women misled by the masculine abuse of the life-force, who reclaim it for themselves and for the benefit of us all. What is interesting is that although the English version and American version have apparent different theme, they both portrait the same concept. While the English description has a more generalized view of the Carter’s stories, American version has a more focused theme.
