This book report is on the book Hoops. Hoops is about basketball and friendship. It is a bout a young boy named Lonnie Jackson. He is 16, and has a girlfriend named Mary Ann. He is a very good basketball player but his attitude gets in the way at times. One afternoon, Lonnie needed to cool down after his argument with his mother, so he decided to go and shoot some hoops. When he arrived at the court he saw an alcoholic lying on the court. He grew very angry and kicked the man. The man ignored Lonnie for a while, and then he decided to leave. A couple of days later, Lonnie and his best friend Paul went to go meet up with their friends and try to create a team for a tournament called the Tournament of Champions. Their friend, Ox, found them a coach named Cal Jones. When Lonnie saw Cal he remembered him as that alcoholic that wouldn’t get off the court the other day.
