Some of the most important themes in life are friendship, loneliness, and racism. Why do humans need friends? Friendship is a friendly attachment with two persons. It fulfills us with love, confidence, and support. Have you ever felt so alone and sad because there isn’t anyone you can talk to, and even though there are people around you, you are prohibited to not talk to anyone? That is what loneliness puts you through. Have some of you been victims of racism? When someone’s beliefs are exactly on one race, especially a person’s own race, over another race of humanity. John Steinbeck portrays those themes in the novel, Of Mice and Men, by the characters of George, Lennie, Curly’s wife and Crooks.
