MY SYSTEM FOR AMERICA
Americans have very different opinions on a broad number of topics. ... There is certainly no way that one system can satisfy everyone’s ethical and moral standards, but we can at least try to do what’s right. ... People living in America right now are usually after one thing: trying to get make themselves or their family wealthy? ... They probably wouldn’t if we used the system of everyone getting the same amount of money. The point of doing that would be to make everyone feel equal and fair. Well, the system itself wouldn’t be fair so why bother? ... This is part of the reason why living in America is so appealing, so that you can have this difference in opinion. ... “His stories often argue implicitly for a more humane economic system which, Garland believed, would result in more meaningful lives lived by the people. ...
A fair and equitable system of taxation and social programs is hard to say. ... I think that it is fair to say that the people who are doctors and lawyers deserve more money than those that are working at McDonald’s. ... I believe it’s also safe to say that in my system the lower-skilled jobs would be paid lower. ... People who think everyone should have completely equal and fair living conditions are crazy. ... He thinks society should have a system of complete fairness and social cooperation for all members of society. ... People can do just about anything they want here, so if we are giving them that chance, isn’t that fair enough?
