As generations began to learn new techniques, and the rapid pace that technology has improved, my essay will look at a brief history of the technology around special effects, and computer generated images in cinema and their role and effect on its audience and society. ... The idea of the moving image and motion is essential to special effects technology, and mainly due to the widely incorporated technique of compositing, which completely relies on the way our mind perceives motion. ... Magicians in the 1700’s utilized many techniques to perform optical illusions to astound their audiences, and this formed the foundation for visual effects technology. ... Technology creating Latex effects has revolutionised the world of creating realistic creatures and monsters from humans, aswell as simple effects such as cuts or brusing, and is most commonly used to cover robotics for a greater sense of realism. Technology has also helped to create all weather conditions in places where it may never rain or snow or even get it to snow in an indoor set. ...
Visual effects and the technology that has created them brings endless possibilities to life, and thus have been able to bring dreams, illusions and fantasies to life. ...
