It brought the original offer from Percy to the end, Percy can only choose to accept or reject this counteroffer. Afterwards, Percy spoke to Jones about the cottage to determine whether Jones might be willing to reduce the price on September 22, but Jones said the price was “firm” at $28,000. Percy sent a letter to Jones accepting his offer to sell the cottage at $28,000; the letter was posted at 11:40 am on September 23. As Jones and Percy were living in different places and Jones did not stipulate the use of a different means of communication, therefore mailing is a reasonable method of communication.
