	Dancing Into the Real World
	One challenge that I have successfully responded to came early on in 1998-99 of my junior year of high school. Upon completing my sophomore year in high school, I was named “Major” of our school dance team, also known as the Highsteppers. Although I knew that being named Major of the dance team meant accepting a great deal of responsibilities, I must admit, I was completely oblivious to the challenge that awaited me. As Major of the dance team, it was my responsibility to take the novice dancers under my wing, so to speak, and teach them dance moves, routines, etc. Also, another responsibility that I had was to choreograph new routines for both football games and pep-rallies. I was more than ready and more than willing to take on these responsibilities because after all, I wanted to do this since I was a little girl.
