The major goals of human life that Krishna and Confucius discuss in the Bhagavad-Gita and The Analects are to escape from the cycle of rebirth and to become a gentleman. The reason for attaining these goals, the method of achieving them, and the potential for any human to achieve them have similarities and differences.
One of the major goals of human life as described by Krishna in the Bhagavad-Gita is moksha, liberation from the cycle of rebirth by joining one’s individual soul, Atman, with the universal soul, Brahman. ... In The Analects, Confucius places no such emphasis on the afterlife. There is not even mention of the possible consequences of one’s actions in this life or of the existence of an eternal soul.
