The CONTEST The reason I wrote this poem was because my mom was looking on the Internet and saw this ad for 10,000 dollars for the winner of a poetry contest. My mom said I should try to win, even if I wasn’t interested in poetry, because I had a chance to try for free. ... I came in second place for this contest and now this poem is published in a coffee table poetry book.
