Conflict Theory paper
Organized Crime and Conflict Theory
In my first paper I described to you how Organized Crime relates to Functionalism. I described the different aspects of Organized Crime and how a Functionalist would view Organized Crime as functional part of society. In this essay I will explain how a Conflict Theorist would view Organized Crime. In this essay I will use the works of two prominent Conflict theorists in an attempt to explain this topic. ... According to the reading in Wallace and Wolf, “Conflict Theorists see society as an arena in which groups fight for power and the control of conflict simply means that one group is able, temporarily to suppress its rival”.
Organized crime correlates directly with Marx’s Conflict Theory.
