What do we as a society know about Jesus? ... Jesus is a very controversial figure and what a lack of information it may never be proven who he really was. To some faith provides the only answer needed, that Jesus is the Son of God, Christ, and is the savior of humankind. To others Jesus was just a man whose life went unnoticed and deserves no special attention today. ... Jesus’ birth marked the end of an era and the beginning of another. ... The Historical Jesus is hard to separate from the religious Jesus, as what we know historically has been derived from many religious texts. A man, no matter if he’s simply Jesus or Christ, led an extraordinary life that came to a tragic and premature death at the hands of a threatened Roman empire, and has since influenced the world.
During Jesus’ life times there were no written records taken to recount his existence. ... Before Jesus was even conceived there was much attention placed on his birth. Jesus’ mother name was Mary and it is believed that she was impregnated by the Holy Spirit, and never had sex with her soon-to-be husband Joseph before Jesus’ birth. It was said, “she will have a sun and you will name him Jesus because he will save his people from their sins. ... ” (Britannica Online) Jesus was born in Rome-ruled Palestine but whether he was born in Galilee or Bethlehem is still unknown. ... Jesus was spared for his parents had fled with him to Egypt. The circumstances arriving Jesus first months of life was very tumultuous as was his childhood.
Jesus grew up in the town Galilee. ... However, Jesus was able to speak Greek as well. Allegedly, Jesus came from a very large family, which consists of four brothers and some sisters. Jesus family though not much is known about their interactions with him during his life, they were there at his birth, during his childhood, and his death.
