The Australian movie, The Sum of Us is an excellent movie to see. This film depicts the relationships of three different families and how the interaction between them affects their lives. The movie starts out by showing a father and son who live together. Harry (Jack Thompson) and Jeff (Russell Crowe) have an excellent father/son relationship, but tend to get under each other’s skin at times. Harry is aware that Jeff is gay, and he encourages his son to find love. He is not ashamed of his son at all. Harry mentions once that he wants Jeff to find a woman so he can pass his “seed” along, but that is it. Jeff is wants to find a lover that he can be with. A sociable person, but when finding a “mate” he has a tendency to get nervous. He is especially nervous when he goes to a local gay bar one night. The reason: he wants to meet a certain man. The guy’s name is Greg, played by John Polson. After some flirting and conversation, the two end up going back to Jeff’s place. While Jeff and Greg are in the act of getting intimate, Harry interrupts them.
