Dr. McKenzie’s ministries are extremely diverse in her desires to expand her ministry globally; she announced her campaign for Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. The African Methodist Episcopal Church is the nation's oldest black denomination and has often taken a leading role in civil rights battles and the push for black economic advancement. It is now an international organization, with more than 8,000 congregations and 2.5 million members. Dr. McKenzie utilized her journalism and marketing experience in her campaign to become the first female African Methodist Episcopal Bishop. She used flyers, commercials, and t-shirts to flood the Cincinnati Conference hall. Her dedication definitely did not go unnoticed. (Jennifer McGill) Many even described the event to have mirrored a Presidential Campaign complete with shaking hands, kissing babies and making contacts.
