Rain in the Desert
Pitter-patter, pitter-patter that is what I hear as the rain comes gently falling down on the skylights of my house and the trees in my yard. It seems as if the desperate trees turn their branches up to be cleansed in both body and soul by washing off the dust that has developed sense the last rain. The smell of rain fills the house and surrounds me like a soft comfortable blanket. I can almost hear the ground drinking up the rain that is coming down on to the extremely parched desert it is like liquid manna from Heaven. Having been raised in Arizona where the rain comes only a few times a year, I am unable to resist the alluring pull of the rain. ... ” Unable to resist I grab a jacket and put on a pair of old sneakers and call out to mom then I go out and play in the rain.
