Marco Environment The macro-environment refers to all the major sectors of activity in society. It doesn’t have a direct impact on the organization, but certain events may influence how the organization changes over time. The organization has little or no possibility of influencing these factors. Micro Environment The micro-environment refers to all the external stakeholders that are in direct contact with your organization. Examples of these would be partners, funders, regulators and competitors. These people/ groups influence the actions of my organization. Some have positive effects, either by creating a demand or supplying resources. While others may have a negative impact by imposing constraints upon you ECT. The micro-environment is influenced by my organization. The effects the customers have on my MP3 player are that they ultimately decide whether my product is a hit or not, depend on if the customer bought the product (its sales). They are also the main source of revenue, for Sony. Also retaining existing customers through satisfactions can be cost effective. This can be positive or negative. Positive if a lot of people buy it and give it good publicity. Or negatively if they withdraw their custom, then survival is threatened.
