The old man unable to see the monster invites him to come in and sit. The monster begins to sell himself to the old man by speaking of a family whom he loves dearly but they have never met him and he is afraid that when he reveals himself to them that they might pass judgment on him. The old man’s kindness assures him that he should have nothing to worry about. Just as the old man is encouraging the monster the rest of the family comes home and the monster, not knowing what to do, clutches the old man’s hand and tells him that the family is his and he pleads with him for help. The old man becomes frightened as the family approaches and upon seeing the monster the man of the family begins to beat him wildly as the women faint from horror. ... The monster curses man and declares war on the entire species.
