There was also a man by the name of Jonathan Tallmun. Jonathan decided to enlist in the Air Force on February 24 ,1949. Jonathan was only seventeen and was determined to do his patriotic duty. It all started when Jonathans parents moved from England to the United States. Jonathan was born January 15, 1932. Mr. Tallmun grew up on a farm just on the outskirts of Montrose, MI. Jonathan had three older brothers, making him the youngest of the bunch. They picked on him until he finally stood up for himself, beating the snot out of his oldest brother. As Jonathan grew older he was expected to do more chores on the farm including, milk the cows, bale hay and clean the stalls. Mr. Tallmuns hobbies growing up including varieties of hunting, such as hunting quail back on the farm land. Jonathans brothers would go fishing at the hole as he described it, which was nothing more than a pond on the farm used for irrigation. Jonathan was very close to his father and mother. They use to play picric, which is a card game, every Saturday at the household. Mr. Tallmun attended Montrose High School. His hangouts were the local tavern, where him and his buddies would go have a beer every Friday night after the football game. Jonathan was not a trouble maker at all in high school. He said he did his fair share of usual teenager things, but was never in trouble. Jonathan met his true love when he was a senior in high school.
