Miles Dewey Davis was born on May 26, 1926 in Alton, Illinois. The birth of Davis should mark the birth of many new and innovative types of Jazz music that he created in his lifetime. There are few musicians that can be credited with being the driving force in more than one style of music, Davis is one of them.
