“The Souls of Black Folk”
by W. ... Du Bois
The Souls of Black Folk is a compilation of fourteen essays written by W. ... In "Of the Black Belt" and "Of the Sons of Master and Man" particularly, Du Bois discusses the economic injustices that black’s faced. ...
The Souls of Black folk is still held true today in that Du Bois believed that “the major problem of the twentieth century was the problem with the color-line.” (Du Bois, 10) After reading his essays, and analyzing the evidence, the only conclusion that can be made is that their was, and still is a barrier between white and black people that has fundamentally held the African American community down as a whole.
