Can we know something that has not yet been proven true
Plato once said, "knowledge is true justifiable belief." In order for us to know something, it must be true, we must actually believe it and there must be suffiecient evidence for it. This later became a widely accepted concept, however, the question of what is truth, evidence and belief is not defined. According to Plato, we can not really know something that has not yet been proven true. However, this is a very broad and undefinded statement because there are many different ways of proving something, hence, knowing something. ... According to Platos statement, "knowledge is true justifiable belief," knowledge must be proven true through one of these four ways but it is unknown which way is the most accurate or more true. ... For us to know something through perception, we use our senses to prove something is true. ... In that sense, the statement is true. Through the way of perception, this is knowledge because it is true, its is justifiable and we believe it. It is only true justifiable belief because we are conscious of it. However, if we were not conscious of it, it cant be called knowledge. ... Perception cant always prove something true because we sometimes also bring cultrue, belief and other knowledges into our perception. ... This is an example of how perception can not always be used as proof because it is too bias most of the times. ... Perception is also bias because everytime we see something, we can not see it independently. ... Through perception, we can know something that has been proven true but there are problems in this way of proving something to be true. Logic is another way of proving something, hence, knowing something. ... It decides what is valid or invalid and it has to make logical sense. ... However, this can be considered a weakness of logic because it is not interested in the truth, but more in the validity of something. In magazines, there are normally quizzes that you can take to discover the "true you. ... According to the test, your results might make logical sense, however, that does not mean that they are true.
