Themes of Shrek It’s weird how when watching a cartoon movie you automatically presume that the movie is not going to include any violent messages, racial slurs or maybe even some type of totalitarian movement. ... Who would have thought that a movie like Shrek would be able to carry out these horrible messages and make society believe that this movie is socially accepted? ... While watching Shrek, I came to the conclusion that all these issues that take place in the real world, also take place in the adolescent movie world. ... So it seems to me that even though the movie Shrek is totally different from the real world yet somehow the same when it comes to issues involved in the movie. ... But I still find it funny however that at some point in our life we have all watched cartoons movies like Shrek yet have never seen these messages.
