... This was not the outcome of a strange technical difficulty, but an act of hate by the talliban, a group of Iraqis against Americans and the American government. These people did not merely target the leaders of the United States, but ended the lives of brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, and children on these planes and in these buildings. At first, people were inclined to believe that killing all of the Iraqis would bring an end to the fear and the hurt brought about by the terrorist events of September 11th. However, it was after some time and thought that many people in the United States realized that killing others will not bring back our dead. Just as the terrorist attacks killed our brothers and sisters, war would kill someone else’s, likely someone not even involved with the acts of hatred that wounded the United States on that September morning. Therefore, many groups have taken a stance against the war in Iraq.
The Vietnam War era was a pivotal time in our country when protests for peace came about. Today, many groups are taking a stance against the war in Iraq.
