My life is like a baseball game. The hard work, the unforgiving drills, and the agony of running, builds character. The quality of practice in the preseason will determine the outcome of the real season. When the game is on the line in the bottom of the seventh, it all comes down to who wants it most and who has worked the hardest. Work, school, family, and extracurricular activities are all aspects of "practice" in the game of life. Baseball has taught me to stare down adversity, and not be intimidated when the competition seems to have the physical advantage. I am not what you would call a big guy at 5'8", but sometimes heart will make up for size. That is one thing I like about baseball, it doesn't take a man standing 6'4" to play the game. Heart and the desire to achieve can help one overcome physical obstacles.
