Audioliterature
Preamble: A Reflection on Audioliterature As I signed up for this course I did not really thought about what was going to expect me. ... After our first class I thought about my audioliterature experience in the past and found out that is was definitely not `new´ for me. ... Finally I only want to mention that I am really glad that the University of Graz provides a course concerning audioliterature. ... But audioliterature can be a good alternative as it is not as exhausting and time consuming as reading a book. ... But to think that audioliterature contents only audiobooks is wrong. Audioliterature has much more to offer than that. Audioliterature also includes radio adoptions which are artefacts based on literary works and which are adopted for radio, literary criticism on radio (secondary literature) and genuine radio literature. ... The analyse of audioliterature, in comparison with other literary genres, is sometimes quite difficult. A book or poem can be reread but in the case of broadcasted audioliterature there is no way to `relisten´ and printed versions are often not available. So, the only possibility to analyse audioliterature is to record the broadcasted piece and listen to it again and again which is in fact rather time consuming. ... The term `radio drama´ is not appropriate as not every audio artefact is automatically dramatic and we can also find, for example, audio pieces with a narrative mode (above all in contemporary audioliterature).
