Fast! Safe! Stylish! Over the years the design of the automobiles has evolved into a vehicle of comfort, safety and versatility. The first automobile, the Model T, was built in the early nineteen hundredths by Henry Ford, when he decided it was time to improve the horse driven carriage they currently were using. Henry Ford oversaw the steam engines and turbines in the factories and adapted such engines to small passenger vehicles. And by May of 1927 he watched the fifteen millionth Model T roll off the assembly line, where such car could be purchased for $825. The Model T was lightweight, relatively powerful, with a four-cylinder, twenty horsepower engine, and fairly easy to drive with a two-speed, foot controlled transmission. However, the best aspect of it all was it was a means of more efficient transportation. As times has moved on so have the styles of vehicles. Vehicles are now becoming more refined, versatile and comfortable, so the owner not only views the car as a necessity but a luxury. The engines in vehicles are becoming more efficient, smoother and overall are better performing, which in turn increases the horsepower, and with more horsepower there is an increase in speed.
