Core Competencies
The Four Criteria for Determining Strategic Capabilities are the following: valuable capabilities, rare capabilities, costly to imitate capabilities, and non-substitutable capabilities. By using the Four Criteria, our group determined that the following are three of Perdue Farm’s core competencies:
1) Frank Perdue - Frank Perdue joined his fathers company in 1930 as the third full-time employee. ...
2) Marketing - Frank Perdue believed that in able to get a higher profit gain in the industry, he would have to sell his chicken at premium price. ... In 1968 Frank Perdue spent $50,000 on radio advertising, and then on 1969 he added $80,000 in TV advertising which increased sales.
