Literature Review One article explains how the Clean Air Act has been revised with the New Source Review rules. The EPA claims it will have a positive effect, while critics say that it gives businesses more leniency. The importance of this article is summed up with this: businesses are allowed to skip out on environmentally-friendly procedures and equipment if they exceed 20% of the cost of the unit. There are too many loopholes for the revised Clean Air Act to have a positive effect. The Vancouver Island Technology Park, or VITP, is a great example of what green building can accomplish. It exceeds minimum efficiency requirements by 43% and uses substantially less power and water. It does not look different to any other building, and was not as expensive to build because the materials were recycled.
