When coming to freshmen orientation, the freshmen at the University of Illinois had no idea where they would live for the next year of their life. During orientation the object is to get students familiar with the university and campus itself. ... This is because the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has so many different housing alternatives for students deciding to live on campus, and for freshmen forced to live on campus their first year. In researching the diverse amount of residence halls at the University of Illinois, I have realized that there are a number of them that stand out from the rest. ... This is particularly true when comparing the University Residence Housing to the privately owned certified housing. ... Other students have the option of going with just the regular University Residence Housing. This housing is great for meeting a lot of new people due to the fact that these halls are known for being the social part of campus for freshmen. ... Also, if one were to talk to a student of the university, they might be able to find out which of the URH houses were the most social.
