Many believe that the evacuation of the Japanese Americans in the west coast to temporary camps was a racial injustice to the Japanese Americans, who were faithful to the country. But the relocation of Japanese Americans was as necessary to the Japanese as it was to the Native Americans. The relocation was not only a safety measure to Americans from the Japanese, but also a safety measure to the Japanese Americans from the Native Americans. “One of the motivating factors in the policy of evacuation and resettlement was to protect the Japanese-Americans from public anger.”(“Japanese American Internment Camps” 70). After the attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan, the Americans were furious not only at the Japanese but also the immigrant Japanese Americans. Thus the Americans started acting physically against the ‘Japs’.
