In one of my previous article, I said two things should be noted about terrorism: one was that terrorism has entered the agenda of humankind as 'a modern phenomenon,' and the other was its being 'indefinable.' Terrorism being a modern phenomenon is not an obstacle in defining it in some way. However, social scientists, political philosophers and jurists, who cannot escape from the deep influence of politics, cannot agree on a certain definition. And this causes everyone to define terrorism in his/her own way and commit deeds that are considered as terrorist acts. Hence, this causes terrorism to acquire a kind of tendency to spread. It is a pathetic situation for social scientists, who need to be objective towards social developments and various areas of human deeds, but are obliged to make statements parallel to the general policies of their countries, rather than voice their own opinions.
