Wu-TaNG “A Better Tomorrow”
After a long search for a song that would fit the message I was looking for I came to choose the song, “A Better Tomorrow” by the Wu-Tang clan the hip-hop crew who took the game by storm in the early 90’s and are still making positive music to the day. ... ” Wu-Tang made this song to make a point to the listeners. After reading this song over and over again I thought Wu took what they were saying and presented it well and trying to get their point across. ... It seems as if the Wu is attacking the early age of the audience. ... The Wu-Tang members are all mostly in their twenties, so they know what kind of things young adults mostly Black Americans are going through. The line “Fifteen years old, shorty ass and top out,” comes to mind how Wu-Tang is trying to form a relationship with its audience. ... This pulls the listener closer to what Wu-Tang is trying to get across in the song. One stanza that jumps out to me is “I know the pain the game bring, I did the same thing,” right there is another example how Wu-Tang strengthen the relationship between the audience and the group. “As we dwell through this concrete hell, calling it home,” and “Ten feet gates surround the building keep us sealed in” these are just more examples of how Wu-Tang is creating a relationship with their listeners.
