Some defining characteristics of an educated person are curiosity which allows probing and questioning; research savvy which allows for utilization of resources to gather facts and evidence to support an opinion; open mindedness enabling the evaluation of facts from multiple viewpoints; the ability to analyze and differentiate so that one’s own conclusion can be drawn; and the ability to superimpose value and moral criteria on top of facts and evidence.
