... To determine if IBM uses paid search we used the following key words: computers, personal computers, mainframes, servers, IBM, small business solutions, and business IT services. Of these keywords IBM did not show as a sponsored listing. The name brand IBM did appear as a computer vendor was purchasing sponsored listings under the search. IBM in two other cases did appear as the first or second listing after the sponsored listings. The phrases small business solutions and business IT services were used in the search because they were keywords taken from IBM’s home page.
