Topic: Sport Climbing and the future development at the Secondary School Recently year, Outdoor Pursuit or Adventure Training were introduced by a lot of youth organization, Sport climbing are the once popular used by the organization as a tool for training. However, sport climbing is unpopular at the Secondary School Physical Education・s Curriculum. Based on the above situation, we will introduce some basic knowledge of sport climbing and discuss the future development of Sport climbing at the secondary school, especially focus on the advantages and the procedure that the school and the teachers need to know. Sport Climbing is origin and development from the rock climbing. Past climbers and mountaineer's competition is within himself and his objective was to reach the summit and return alive. Sport climbing is more accessible to more people than traditional rock climbing, both in terms of location and in cost of outfitting. This popular form of climbing can be done anywhere that bolted routes exist-at indoor gyms, outdoor crags and on outdoor artificial walls designed for competition. Let・s talk about the equipment; maybe some people will think that sport climbing needs a lot of equipment, heavily and expensively. Normally, the basic equipment for the sport climbing required the following equipment, included the harness, belay device, kermantle rope, locking carabiners, rock shoes and the chalk bag: Harnesses are padded to cushion the repeated falls that can occur in sport climbs; belay device is to control the rope・s movement to protect the climber at the other end. A belay device acts as a brake on the climbing rope by applying friction to it. Kermantle rope is the climbing ropes stretch when fallen on, absorbing shock and dissipating the energy generated by the fall. Locking carabiners are built to connect things together. The carabiners are strong and able to withstand extreme forces. The rock shoes are the shoes with stiff rubber tend to hold up well to climbing. The chalk bag is used to keep palms dry and ensure secure hand placements. The chalk is put inside the chalk bag which is clipped to the harness or worn on a belt. After the mention of the equipments, we also need to know some knotting, for example: the overhand knot, stopper knot, figure of eight and double figure of eight.
