This movie, “Kandahar” expresses the feelings of one spectacular Afghani woman, Nafas, who has to do a number of things to avoid getting into trouble with the Taliban-ruled Afghanistan. ...
In the beginning of the movie, Nafas is introduced early on. ... ) Finally across the border, Nafas still has to get to Kandahar in three days and fourtunately meets a boy named, Khak who helps her travel some of the way because she doesn’t know how to get there. ... It is during this part of the movie that the viewers learn that girls were not allowed to go to school and not only were the boys required to memorize the Koran, but were also expected to know the answers to military, weapon questions. ... Nafas is left with the man who tried to sell them legs and they join a woman’s wedding group who were going to Kandahar. ... The movie ends by showing the solar eclipse and reminds the viewers that Nafas never got the chance to try and saver her sister and all her efforts have gone to waste. ... This movie illustrates the suffering of Afghan women under the control of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. ... Rolling Stone called the movie ”unforgettable” and “devastating” and I couldn’t agree more. ... What I find the most “unforgettable” about the movie is the visit to the doctor. ... I think that the point of the movie was to show people the truth of what foes on in Afghanistan and to allow people to view what the women there have to go through.
