GTA2 readme.txt - 07/10/99 General Video Problems - Screenmode ---------- - to run GTA2 in a window, you must be running Windows with a 16-bit desktop (i.e. 65536 colours). On some video cards, you may find that you have to change the desktop to 16-bit even to run the game full-screen. You can do this by right-clicking on your desktop and selecting "Properties" then selecting the "Settings" tab and choosing a 16-bit "High Colour" colour palette. DirectX ------- - you may find that the game says you have an inadequate version of DirectX even though you have installed DirectX 6.1 (which is the minimum version required). If this happens, simply re-install DirectX by running "DXSetup.exe" which is on the GTA2 CD in Install/DirectX . Video Drivers ------------- - if you experience video problems, it may be necessary to upgrade the video drivers on your system. Current drivers for various popular video cards are included on the GTA2 CD. See drivers eadme.txt on the CD for more information. Known Video Card Problems - ATI Rage Pro ------------ - For alpha display (i.e. see-through exploding scores & explosions) to work correctly on this card, you must make sure that "Special Recognition" is selected on the video tab in GTA2 Manager.
