Othello’s Transformation
In the play Othello, by William Shakespeare, Othello language shows his eloquent
and noble character, along with the descent of his character. Iago influences this change by
trapping Othello in his "web" of obscene lies and language, so in turn Othellos manner
becomes much like that of Iago. ... By
examining the language of Othello and Iago we see how Iagos influence on Othello
transforms his character into something obscene and disrespectful, and eventually Othellos
transformation back into the caring, noble and loving man he once was before Iagos
influence. ...
Before anything bad happened Othellos love for Desdemona and hers for him
was so certain that he used nothing but sweet, loving speech and manner with his "fair
lady"(I. ...
Othellos descent climaxes when Iago tells him what Cassio supposedly talks
about in his sleep and how he supposedly has Desdemonas handkerchief. ...
Finally, by observing Othellos language before he murdered Desdemona we see
that he transforms back into his noble state of mind.
