Chrysalids society of waknuk should be condemned
John Wyndham’s classic science fiction novel, The Chrysalids, is a remarkable story of a young man living in the twisted religious community of Waknuk. The society’s beliefs are so powerful that Waknuk should be condemned for their theocracy. Narrow-minded, unmerciful and inhumane are all attributes, which describe Waknuk accurately and demonstrate why Waknuk should be condemned. The people of Waknuk disapprove of anything that they do not consider to be the norm, and they should be reprehended for this. ... The majority of Waknuk citizens are fanatical about maintaining purity in their society, and do not wish to tolerate anything slightly different. ... Waknuk is a society that is unaware of the concept of diversity, and believes that it is their duty to cleanse everything that they do not consider to be true in they eyes of God. ... Because of the narrow-minded attitudes the people of Waknuk carry, they should be punished. A significant trait among the general public of Waknuk that they should be penalized for, is the unforgiving state of minds in which they live. ... Moral and religious values tend to surpass the importance of close relationships among the people of Waknuk. ... Another instance in Waknuk, where people are treated unfairly and were not forgiven, occurs when a woman gives birth to three or more deviated children.
